Education Access TV Channel

Overview

Cable 13 is an educational access channel operated by the School District of Waukesha.  The day to day operation of this channel is the responsibility of the Technology and Information Department located in the Lindholm administration building.  With coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we reach more than 18,000 households in Waukesha and surrounding communities.  Our coverage extends to all 23 schools in the district.  Click here to see cable schedule. (NOTE: you will have to select "Channel 13" as the type of calendar.)

Mission

Our mission is to educate and inform our audiences about the schools, educational policies and goals of the District and to also provide enhanced learning opportunities for our schools and community.

Programming

Programming on Cable 13 covers four major areas.

  1. All school board committees and subcommittees are shown live over the access channel.  These meetings are then cablecast numerous times as the schedule permits during the following seven days after the live broadcast.
  2. Original programming including student activities and events, classroom activities, and community informational programs are broadcast throughout the school year.
  3. A wide range of satellite downlinks (NASA, RIF, US Department of Education) and educational enrichment programs along with electronic field trips are broadcast during the year.
  4. When the above programs are not being broadcast there is a district message board  including key announcements of school calendars, dates and events, cable 13 schedule, lunch & breakfast menus, student and staff accomplishments, emergency announcements and much more.
