note from Mrs. Schultz
|Dear Lowell Students
to a new school year and to Lowell Elementary! So much work is done by
many people to ensure that when we open our doors, everything will be
just so, from the secretary who enrolls students and gets class lists
updated as fast as she can; to the teacher who spends hours preparing
the room, the lessons, and the materials to use in the classroom; to
the parents who buy the school supplies, talk to their child about
school, attend orientations, lay everything out the night before so
that it’s ready; to the custodians who work every day cleaning, moving,
dusting, washing and maintaining the building. While the preparation
carries a certain level of anticipation, we all breathe a sigh of
relief when the students finally arrive and we can just dive into
beginning of the school year is such an exciting time and an
opportunity for routines to make a big difference in your child’s
A regular schedule such as going to sleep, waking up and studying at
the same time each day can make all of these tasks easier. It may also
mean fewer power struggles with your child. When daily activities are
always accomplished in the same way, children know what to expect.
look forward to seeing you here at Lowell on August 28 from 5:30 – 6:30
for Meet Your Teacher Night. This is a casual time to bring your
children into the building to meet their teacher and see the classroom.
This helps to ease any transition worries your children might have
about the new school year.
look forward to working with each of you. I encourage you to get
involved in our school. Whether you volunteer in the classroom, help in
the Library, chaperone a field trip, or attend and support our parent
group (PTO), there are many ways for you to be involved here at Lowell.
look forward to seeing you all soon!
