The “last call” for breakfast is 8:25 (breakfast will not be served after that time.) The “last call” time of 8:25 was set to allow your child time to eat before the bell rings for the beginning of the school day. If your child is not in his or her seat by 8:40 am they will be marked tardy regardless if they are still in the lunchroom. If you eat breakfast at Lowell, please leave home in plenty of time to adhere to the breakfast times listed.

Wisconsin’s immunization law requires students through grade 12 to be immunized against certain diseases according to their age or grade level. Students must provide dates (month, day, and year) of immunizations upon admission to school, or be subject to exclusion or legal action. A fine of up to $25.00 per day may be imposed for non-compliance with the law. Please make an appointment now to have your child immunized. Thank you for your help and cooperation.

DROP OFF AND PARKING:
Please drop your student off in the north parking lot or the tennis court parking lot. These areas are
strictly drop off points. Please DO NOT PARK IN THE TURN AROUNDS! For the safety of the children please drop your child(ren) off and keep the traffic moving. Should you need to park, extra spaces can usually be found in the tennis court parking lot or on the North side of Madison hill and on Michigan Avenue. Please DO NOT drop your students off directly in front of the building on Grandview Blvd. This area is designated for bus use only. The buses are met by school staff and they must be able to get to the buses easily. This is one of greatest safety concerns.Thank you for your help and cooperation.
A reminder that the City of Waukesha has approved street parking on the north side of Madison Avenue, from the power pole (23 feet west of the parking lot entrance) all the way up the Madison hill! Avoid the parking lot congestion completely and your children will not need to cross the street to get to your car. A reminder that you may not park illegally in the Fire Lane in the parking lots. If you do, police will be called and you will be issued a ticket.
If you have special parking requirements, please call Mrs. Schultz at 262-970-1910.
The city and school district continue to look at other possible plans to make parking easier and picking up our children safer.

DRESS YOUR CHILD APPROPRIATELY FOR THE
WEATHER
We still have boys and girls who come to school unprepared to go outside for
recess. In Wisconsin, that weather can change daily, so please watch
the weather report so your children come to school dressed appropriately for
the weather. We do not have supervision
inside the building for students who are not dressed for the weather so
PLEASE see that your child comes to school prepared!
Also, please make sure that all of your child’s clothing
and items are properly marked with their Name, Grade, and Teacher! We have
an abundance of clothing and items left at the end of every year! If names
were marked on the items, we could return them to the student.
Thank you for your cooperation!

IMPORTANT REMINDER!
Our Lowell parents are always welcome
at school, however, when a parent arrives
into a classroom unexpectedly this is a major disruption to the entire
class.
Please follow the proper procedure and always make an appointment with
your child's
teacher first. Simply call the teacher and they will set up a time that
works for the
both of you to visit the classroom. If you do not have the phone number
for your
child's teacher, you can find it on the Staff section of the Lowell website or call 970-1905
and Heidi will be glad to give you the proper extension.
For safety reasons, NEVER GO BEYOND THE FRONT ENTRANCE LOBBY
WITHOUT CHECKING INTO THE OFFICE FIRST. If you need to speak with a
teacher, Heidi Lopez or Terrie Leverenz
will call the classroom of the teacher you need to speak with and
have them meet you at the office, if possible at that time. We also would appreciate if you would
not enter at any of the other entrances other than the front entrance
on
Grandview Blvd. Whenever any person other than a staff member is in the
building,
they need to have a YELLOW badge on to alert the staff and students
that they have indeed checked into the office.
Please help us to keep Lowell School a safe environment for your
children.
We try very hard to keep a tight control on who enters our building for
the safety
of your child(ren). Your cooperation will help ensure the security and
safety of all our Lowell students.
Thank you!

DRESS CODE REVIEW
Student attire must be respectful of others and appropriate for the
educational setting
of an elementary school. Clothing that causes a distraction or disruption in
the
school or health or safety risk is inappropriate.
Clothing that is disruptive includes:
BEACH ATTIRE, VISIBLE UNDERGARMENTS, CROP TOPS, CLOTHING THAT HAS
LETTERING OR DESIGNS CONSIDERED IN POOR TASTE, AND TOPS THAT DON’T
REACH THE WAISTBAND EVEN WHEN ARMS ARE RAISED.
Shorts can be worn, but must be of a suitable length. Students are expected
to remove
all head wear, scarves, and bandanas, etc. upon entering the building.
Clothing that advertises alcohol, tobacco products or contain sexual
innuendoes are
not allowed. NO FLIP FLOP SANDALS ALLOWED on playground
PARENTS WILL BE CALLED IF STUDENTS
DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE RULES.
*********************************************************************
A reminder:
NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO WAIT INSIDE THE BUILDING
FOR THEIR CHILD OR SIBLING.
Please wait in your cars (in a marked
parking spot)
or outside the building until your child is released.
Benches in the hall are intended for students who ride the bus
or daycare
vans and for students with special pick up instructions.
When others are in the hall, the hall gets too crowded, resulting in
congestion,
chaos and disruption of classrooms in the near vicinity.
Thanks!
When older siblings are coming from the MIDDLE or HIGH SCHOOL to pick up a
younger sibling at the
end of the day, please DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THE BACK DOOR AREAS. It would be
best if you chose a
meeting spot on Michigan Avenue. For security reasons, high school and
middle school students are
not allowed on school grounds during school hours and dismissal times. It is
impossible for our door
monitor’s to determine which high school or middle school students DO or DO
NOT have siblings at
Lowell. If an older student is found on school grounds they will be asked to
leave. Your help and
cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

district buildings before, during or after the school day. Any
exceptions
to this policy for medical, etc. reasons must have prior approval
from
the
