Breakfast & Lunch Programs

On June 27, 1994 the Board of Education accepted the proposal of Marriott School Services (Sodexho)
to administer the district’s food service program.  Effective with the 1995-96 school year all district schools now participate in the Federal Food Service Program.

This financial arrangement allows the Food Service Program to operate with no cost support from the district’s general operating funds and is intended to allow the proration of “typical” food service program costs such as utilities, equipment repair and custodial staff to the program, also easing the burden on the general funds of the district.

The district currently is operating six breakfast programs at Blair, Hadfield, Hawthorne, Saratoga, White Rock and Whittier elementary schools.  The initial start- up cost of $10,000 for each program was funded through federal grant monies.

The following are the 2008-09 lunch prices which were approved by the Board of Education.

  • Elementary student - $1.80
  • Secondary student - $2.05
  • Ala Carte milk - $.40
  • Breakfast - $1.00
  • Adults - $2.50

Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals, or free milk.  To apply for free or reduced price meals or milk, use the Free and Reduced Price School Meals application available on the Department of Public Instruction website.
