Middle School Clubs, Activities and Sports

The School District of Waukesha appreciates every opportunity to teach children. This is why we value the extracurricular activities and athletics we offer students from elementary school through high school. Research has shown that students receive many benefits from participation in extracurricular activities and athletics. Students have a better transition from elementary school to middle school and from middle school to high school, they have more proficient performance in the classroom and on state and national standardized tests, and have better social skills and social ties within the school. Students also tend to exhibit more school spirit, pride, and optimism and are more prepared for college and other post-high school interests with more participation. Additionally, research has shown that students who are involved with high school extracurricular athletics and activities tend to reduce failure and drop-out rates, especially among at-risk students. Because of these benefits, the Waukesha School District offers different academic social and service clubs/activities and interscholastic sports.
