Lunch School District Info
on Breakfast and Lunch Programs Including Menu Elementary Hot Lunch Prices Children
may bring bag lunches. All
District Students in All-Day Kindergarten through 6th grade can purchase hot
lunch. The cost - $1.80
per lunch/day. Milk can be
purchased to go with a child's sack lunch for .40 cents a carton. A
computer system was put in place last spring. Now, all students receive a 6 digit pin number that they
need to memorize so they can enter in the computer each day. It worked well last spring. The
Sodexho Marriott Company provides hot lunch in all Waukesha Schools. Students must remember to bring lunch
money to purchase tickets daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Please keep a list somewhere of how
many lunch tickets your child may have left. No refunds are available. Monthly menus will be sent home so that you can make daily
choices with your child(ren). AGAIN,
FREE AND REDUCED LUNCHES ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION
AND ARE ELIGIBLE. ALL OF THIS
INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT OPEN HOUSE. REMEMBER: NO FREE/REDUCED LUNCH CAN BE GRANTED
UNTIL APPLICATION IS APPROVED BY MRS. SCHLAIS. *If
any primary grade students are not finished eating by their bell time, they
are welcome to stay in the gym to complete their lunch. We do not rush the
students, but sometimes students rush themselves because they wish to go
outside as quickly as they can. Students
who stay for lunch are expected to follow the school rules. The rules are: 1. Students
should walk to the gym and proceed to tables in an orderly manner. 2. Students
should remain seated during lunch. 3. Students
should raise their hand for assistance if a problem arises. 4. Supervisors will dismiss children individually after
they have disposed of their lunch bags and food wrappers correctly. 5. Students
who stay for lunch should remain on the school grounds during lunch
daily. No exceptions unless
notified in writing by a parent/guardian. 6. No
throwing of any food or lunch item will be allowed. 7. No popping
of any containers will be allowed. 8. No
soda will be allowed. Students are encouraged
to drink milk or juice at lunch time. *If
"Lunchables" are purchased that contain soda, please remove the
soda and substitute a juice box, etc. Our
schools promote the use of nutritional foods. Non-nutritional foods, those having high sugar content,
should not be brought for use as school treats, awards, etc. If your child will be bringing their
own lunch, please try to pack a
well-balanced lunch for your child, also. Too many sweets at lunch time does not prepare the child
nutritionally for their afternoon work in the classroom. We do
sell ice cream items on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 25 and 50 cents. The
treats are healthier than the usual ice cream. They include low-fat ice cream, fruit bars, yogurt cups,
etc. The purchase of treat is a choice.
However, students are only allowed to purchase one treat per day and
are not to buy for others. |
